Calculate Your Hand Penalty
Your penalty in Indian Rummy is the sum of the cards left unmelded when the round ends. Ace, Jack, Queen, and King are worth 10 each, number cards 2 to 10 are worth their face value, and jokers are worth 0. The total is capped at 80 points. Tap the cards still loose in your hand to add them up.

Card values used by the calculator
Aces, jacks, queens, kings and tens count 10; cards 2 to 9 count face value. Printed and designated wild jokers count zero. These values match our current practice game.
This convention follows published Indian Rummy rules. Check another table’s scoring rules before using it there.
Enter the cards that actually count
This tool does not inspect your groups or decide which cards are exempt from penalty. Determine the countable cards under the relevant table’s sequence requirements, then enter them. For any designated wild-rank card, choose Joker rather than its ordinary rank button.
You can add repeated cards to represent a multi-deck game. Enter only cards that count after applying the table’s sequence and protected-group rules. This calculator does not decide which cards are protected or validate a legal 13-card hand.

A zero result means the selected values total zero or no cards are selected. It does not prove a valid declaration. Fixed drop and wrong-declaration penalties must be checked separately. Declaring without checking the groups is one of the most common rummy mistakes.
The 80-point cap
The calculator caps the selected-card total at 80, a common convention in published rules and the cap used by our game. It is not a limit on a multi-hand pool total or a guarantee about another operator’s settlement.
